Nayanthara has agreed to act in a film without listening to the story.

Nayanthara after breaking away her relationship with Prabhu Deva has started giving call sheet to Tamil and Telugu films.

Nayanthara before agreeing to act in a film will listen to the whole script. Manirathnam is currently directing a film titled Kadal.

New face Gowtham is donning the lead role. Samantha was signed for the female lead role. She was ousted out of the film due to call sheet problems.
Apart from this Manirathnam was not satisfied with her looks and appearance. Now yester year actress Radha’s daughter Thulasi has been signed for the female lead role.

Director has decided to cast a popular heroine in an important role. Since Nayanthara has taken up acting again, Manirathnam has decided to cast her in that role.

Billa 2 gets A certificate

Finally the film Billa 2 which has Ajith in the lead role has been censored but there is confusion in the release date of this film. Billa 2 was under production for a long time.

It was expected that the film will be released on 22nd June but still there is tug in the release of this film. Members of the Censor Board who saw this film certified it with an A certificate. The members have also deleted some sequences.

If a film gets an A certificate it will not get tax exemption but the producer is not worried about these things. It is understood that the release date of Billa 2 will be announced by today evening. The works related to prints have already commenced. The production team says that if the film is not released on 21st it will be definitely released on 28th of this month. Billa 2 is being released in 1345 screens throughout the world. The film will be screened in 350 theatres in Tamil Nadu.

Veteran actor Kaka Radhakrishnan passed away

Very old actor Kaka Radhakrishnan passed away due to heart attack. Actor Radhakrishnan was living in Singaram Street at T Nagar. He is aged 86 years. He began his career by acting in stage plays at the age of 7.

He has acted more than 1000 stage plays. The first film he had acted was Chandrahari. He had acted in more than 400 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages. Some of the important Tamil films that he had acted were Manchaca, Mangayarkkarasi, Thevar Magan and Vasool Raja MBBS.

For the last few years he stopped acting due to his ill health. He passed away yesterday evening at 3.30 pm due to cardiac arrest. The funeral rites will be taking place today evening at 5 pm. Members of the film fraternity paid their final homage. He is survived by two wives, three sons and five daughters.

Ganesh Venkataraman to pair with Shriya

Ganesh Venkataraman who had earlier paired with Trisha and Anushka is going to pair with Shriya in a film. Ganesh Venkataraman had paired with Trisha in the film titled Abhiyum Naanum.

Trisha refuses to pair with Malayalam super star Mohanlal

Trisha has refused to act with Mohanlal in a Malayalam film. Five directors are directing a Malayalam film. Five heroes are acting in this action oriented film. Joshi is directing the portions pertaining to Mohanlal.


The director felt that Trisha would be the appropriate actress to pair with Mohanlal but Trisha did not agree for this. Sources close to Trisha say, " Trisha is getting lots of offers in Malayalam but she is busy acting in other language films.

That is the reason she was not able to give call sheet for Mohanlal’s film. Trisha is currently acting in four Tamil films. Now she has no time to act in Malayalam films.
The crew members give us a different version. One of the crew member said, "When we approached Trisha for her call sheet she demanded a salary of Rs 40 Lakhs. She refused to reduce her salary. Malayalam film industry has very small market and hence we cannot pay excessive salary to heroines."

Amala Paul to pair with Jayam Ravi

After Engeyum Kadhal, Jayam Ravi is acting in the films Aadhi Bhagavan directed by Ameer and Boologam directed by Kalayana Krishna. Now Jayam Ravi has been signed for the lead role in a film to be directed by Samudrakani.

Anushka says that she is very busy in Tamil films

Anushka is very busy in the Tamil films Alex Pandian, Thandavam, Singam 2 and Erandam Ulagam. She is acting in four big films simultaneously. She while answering our questions said:

Is it true that you got cinema offers by teaching yoga to cinema actors?

Yes. I will go the house of cinema actors and teach them yoga. Telugu director Poori Jaganath is one of the persons who learnt yoga from me. He only mentioned that it will be good if I act in films. I thought he was playfully telling this. Then he became serious and told me that I should act. Through him I got the opportunity to act with Nagarjuna in the film titled Super. After this I had acted in the film Lakshyam. This was the film which made me known to the world. I had donned a role of bubbly girl and that is my real character.

There is news that you have stopped acting in Telugu films and that you are even refusing offers given by your close directors?
I cannot say that I have stopped acting in Telugu films. How is it possible for me to not act in my mother language films? I am interested to act in Telugu films than in any other language films. I have lots of Tamil films. I am acting in Thandavam, Singam 2, Alex Pandian and Erandam Ulagam. Each film is important to me. All these films are multi starrers. I am forced to concentrate in Tamil cinema. This is an inevitable matter. That is the reason I am not seen in Telugu films. I am having two Telugu films in hand which has Nagarjuna in the lead roles. I have accepted these films earlier. Once my call sheet in Tamil films is over, I will definitely act in Telugu films.

There is also news that you are boycotting Telugu films because you are not able to compete with young actresses?

I don’t know what to say about this. Again I am telling that I like Telugu cinema. I love to act in Telugu films. Now I am busy in Tamil films.

Karthi speaks about Saguni

Karthi after completing Saguni is busy with Alex Pandian. When asked Karthi that how his film Saguni has come out, he said, "Very superb. It is a good film. One person comes to solve his personal problem.

In this process he gets strangled with public problems. How he comes out of this and solves his problems is the rest of the story. We have narrated this with action and comedy. There will always be politics around us.

Those who do not do politics will get trapped in politics. For every second every one of us gets trapped in politics. This is the base of this film. This film is about me who journeys from a village to city. Radhika, Mumtaz and Kotta Srinivasa Rao are all wonderful actors. It was challenging for me to act with them.
The height of comedy was in Siruthai. I feel that this film will overtake Siruthai. The reason for this is Santhanam. In the epic Mahabharata, wherever Saguni appears, there will be entertainment. He will not spare anyone. This film will also be like this. So far I have never seen such a shooting spot. It was so gala."

I am writing story for my Hollywood film says Kamal Haasan

Actor Kamal Haasan has mentioned that he is writing the story for his Hollywood film. Kamal had participated in the IIFA function held in Singapore. The trailer of his film Viswaroobam was released there.

He also announced in the function that he will soon be acting in a Hollywood film. At this juncture Kamal on return to Chennai from Singapore spoke to the media. He said, "Only Tamil cinema elevated me to the International standard. Hence I will not forget this.

Now I have been approached to act in a Hollywood film. I had been to Singapore to finalize the details regarding the agreement. I am not acting in Hollywood film with the aim of getting Oscar Award.
The Hollywood producer approached me seeing my acting as a Tamil actor. I took this as an opportunity and agreed to act in Hollywood film but I will not be a permanent Hollywood actor and stay there. I will continue to act in Tamil films. Tamil cinema only made me grow up. Only this has taken me to Hollywood level.

I will never forget Tamil cinema and audience. I am making Viswaroobam in Tamil and Hindi. At this stage I cannot say that whether there is any difference in the story in these two languages. You will come to know only when the film is released. The title of the Hollywood film is yet to be decided. I am writing the story for my Hollywood film. Hollywood producer Osborne listened to the story and asked me to complete the whole script. "

Anushka jumps from a running train

Gnanavel Raja is producing a film titled Alex Pandian under the banner Studio Green. Karthi, Anushka. Sanusha, Santhanam and others are acting in this film. Sooraj is directing this film.


Devi Sriprasad is composing music for Alex Pandian. Recently the shooting of this film took place in Mysore. It is understood that a fighting sequence using train and helicopter was shot there.

While shooting these sequences, it seems that Anushka has jumped out of a running train. When asked director Sooraj about this, he said, "We shot a sequence where the villain chases Karthi and Anushka with a helicopter who are in the moving train. Anushka and Karthi took the risk and ran on top of the train.
In one sequence both of them were supposed to jump down from the train. Anushka said that she will jump from the train without using a dupe. So we asked the driver to slow down the train. Both of them jumped. This chasing sequence was shot for 15 days at a cost of Rs 1 ½ Crores. This scene will be the highlight of this film."

Kamal Haasan to act in Hollywood film

Actor Kamal Haasan has mentioned that he will be acting in a Hollywood film. Kamal has signed with Hollywood producer Barrie M Osborne who has produced films like Matrix and Lord of Rings. IIFA function was held in Singapore recently.

The trailer of Viswaroobam directed by Kamal Haasan was released in this function. Andrea and Pooja Kumar who had shared the screen with Kamal Haasan had also participated in this function.

Kamal Haasan during this function has announced about his acting in a Hollywood film. Hollywood producer Barrie M Osborne was also there when Kamal announced this.Producer Osborne while speaking said, "Kamal has screened Viswaroobam for me. His hard work in this film has stunned me. We then spoke about working together.
Kamal spoke to me about cinema, literature and history. He was like an encyclopaedia. I could not refuse when he gave me the idea of making a film. We decided to work together. The film which will speak about Indian culture and history will be made in Hollywood style. Earlier I was very much interested to work with Indian actors but I was confused about the story. Now Kamal’s concept attracted me very much so we decided to work it out."

Actor Kamal Haasan while speaking about this said, "It is a great honour to me when producer Osborne accepted my idea. This is the best forum to announce about us working together. This is a very important aspect in my career. That is why I am making this announcement to you all. Other details regarding my role and title are yet to be finalized."

Why did I come out of Kadal explained by Samantha

Samantha says that she quit Kadal because of call sheet problems. Samantha was signed to don the female lead role in the film Kadal directed by Manirathnam. Karthik’s son Gowtham is donning the lead role.

Sequences pertaining to them were shot. Now actress Radha’s younger daughter Thulasi has been signed in the role which Samantha had donned earlier.

Samantha while citing the reason that why she quit Kadal said, "Unexpectedly I had to quit from the film Kadal. This is a great loss for me. I had to quit this film due to call sheet problems."
But one of the crew member said, "Manirathnam and cinematographer Rajeev Menon saw the rushes of Kadal. They found out that Samantha did not suit Gowtham. Gowtham is aged 19. Samantha was looking very elderly to him and hence she was ousted out of the film."

What is the story of Viswaroobam?

PVP Cinemas in association with Kamal is producing a film titled Viswaroobam. Kamal Haasan has written the story, screenplay and dialogues.

He who has donned the lead role has directed this film. Andrea, Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Jaideep and Nasar are also starring in this film.

The music for this has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Sanu John Varghese has handled the camera for this film. Many Hollywood technicians have worked for this film.

Kamal’s gargantuan dance sequences have featured in this film apart from the action sequences. Kathak exponent Pandit Birju Maharaj has choreographed these dance sequences. Major portions of this film have been shot in America. In a statement issued by Kamal Haasan about this film
says, " I am having this story in my mind for the last 7 years. A middle income group girl called Niru alias Nirupama goes to America for higher studies. There she marries a dance master called Viswanathan.

Though there is no love between them, they run their family in a peaceful way. Viswanathan also runs his dance class without any problems. Nirupama who completes her Ph D starts to work.

She develops more desires. In order to fulfil these desires, her marriage is a barrier. She gets ready for divorce but there is no proper reason. She is not able to find any fault with her husband Viswanathan.

She feels that her husband has no morality. She engages a detective to probe her husband. When the detective starts to probe him, unexpected problems erupt. "

Kamal has narrated the first part of his film in this statement. The trailer of this film was released in IIFA function yesterday in Singapore.

Vimal says that he will continue to act with multi stars

Actor Vimal has mentioned that he will act in multi star films.

He while speaking to the media said, "I am currently acting in Sillunu Oru Sandhippu, Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal, Rendavathu Padam and Koothu.

I am sharing the screen with Arjun and Cheran in the film Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal. It was different experience acting with them.

In Rendavathu Padam I am acting with Richard and Aravind Akaash. There are five heroes in Koothu. I am making a special appearance in this film. Next I will be acting in a film to be directed by Pandiraj.
Sivakarthikeyan is also acting in this film. Right from the beginning I have been acting in multi star films. I am not worried that how many heroes are there in a film.

Samantha has walked out of the film Kadal directed by Manirathnam. Now Thulasi who is the second daughter of yester year popular heroine Radha is acting in the place of Samantha.

Samantha made her debut as heroine through the Tamil film Baana Kaathadi. After this she continued to concentrate in Telugu films and now she is one of the leading actresses there.

Samantha is currently acting in Naan E directed by Rajamouli and Nee Thane En Pon Vasantham directed by Gowtham Menon.

Actress Amala Paul boldly donned the role of a girl who seduces her father-in-law in her debutant film Sindhu Samaveli.

She went to great heights because of her acting in her second film Myna. Then she continued to act in Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal, Deiva Thirumagal and Vettai.

After this she did not get much offers in Tamil as she expected and because of this she switched over Telugu films. She did not get suitable roles there also. Now she is back to her native place Kerala and is acting in Malayalam films. At this juncture, in an interview she has mentioned that she has no objection acting in bikini dress.

Siruthai was released some 1 ½ years back. Saguni is now being released after Siruthai. After Siruthai, people who came to narrate stories to Karthi said that he will be donning police officer role but Karthi smilingly refused these offers.

He had mentioned that if he acted in stereotyped roles it would be boring for him. After listening to many stories, Karthi had agreed to act in Saguni.

So far Karthi has not acted in the films directed by debutant directors. The reason for Karthi to work with debutant director Shankar Dayal is because of the screenplay and dialogues. The first half of Saguni will be humorous while the second half will be sensational.

Priyamani speaks about Charulatha

Priyamani while speaking about her film Charulatha said, "This is a heroine oriented story. The story is inspired from a foreign film. This film is being produced in Kannada and Tamil.

This film is not being dubbed in Tamil. This is a direct Tamil film. The story of this film is about twins born confounded. When I heard the story, i found it was very challenging so I accepted it. We have seen these kinds of twins in newspapers and TV channels only.

I have not seen them personally. How difficult it would be for them. There will be so many problems like anatomy and medical problems. There will be many more problems. On the whole this is a tough role.
Many are asking me that whether I am ready for this role. Yes. I don’t want to lie by saying that I had learnt their body language by sitting with them for 10 days. I have only read that how their body language will be. That’s all. There is also a question that whether the twins will come confounded in the film Charulatha. They will come confounded as well as separately. I cannot narrate the whole story. This is a fantastic thriller film."

Neetu Chandra says it is not right to ask about personal life

Neetu Chandra who had acted in the Tamil film Yavarum Nalam has now paired with Jayam Ravi in the film Aadhi Bhagavan directed by Ameer.

She who is currently acting in an International film said, " Though I am in a foreign country, it is not comfortable as our native place. For the last ten days I am in a foreign country. I am waiting for the shooting to complete in order to rush to Mumbai.

I have never even thought of acting in an International or Hollywood film. I was not interested in that but sometimes unexpected things happen. That is the way I got that opportunity. Many are asking me that whether I am in love with the Hindi actor Randeep Hooda.
Matters regarding to my acting and related to that only should be known to the public. I feel like that. News regarding my personal life is unnecessary. I don’t want to speak about that. It is not necessary for others to know about it."

I have touched Kannadasan says Kamal Haasan

Ponmaalai Pozhudhu is a film which has Aadhav in the lead role. Aadhav is the grandson of late poet laureate Kannadasan. The audio CD of this film was launched at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai recently.

Kamal Haasan released the audio CD which was received by lyricist Vairamuthu. Kamal Haasan speaking on this occasion said, "Had the hero’s father Kalaivanan Kannadasan was alive, he would have been the producer of this film or a lyricist.

Kalaivanan use to have a great sense of humour. His son Aadhav Kannadasan also has the sense of humour like his father. I have touched Kannadasan. I have also touched the feet of Periyar. We actors know that the applause of the audience is the great strength. The audience should give the same applause given to us to this film’s hero Aadhav."

Saguni to hit the screens after Billa 2

Whether summer vacations gives happiness to children or not, the film industry people will be very happy. The reason for this is that many big films will be released during this season and the theatres will be very busy.

In the year 2012 vacations none of the big films were released. At the time when the vacations are over, the most expected film Billa will be hitting the screens. Billa 2 is a very high budgeted film which has Ajith and Parvathy Omanakuttan in the lead roles.

This film which has been directed by Chakri Toleti is being released by Aascar Ravichandran in Tamil Nadu. The film is to hit the screens on 22nd June. 22nd June happens to be the birthday of Ilayathalapathy Vijay.
This is the first time an Ajith’s film is being released on the birthday of Vijay. Billa 2 is being screened for Censor Board members between 11th June and 15th June. Aascar Films will be releasing this film in a big way on 22nd June after the certification of the Censor Board. Since the release date of Billa 2 has been announced, it has been decided to release Saguni which has Karthi in the lead role on 6th July.

I will act at least in 2 Tamil films this year says Thamanna

After Vengai, Thamanna was not seen in any Tamil films. Her fans are happy seeing her Telugu films dubbed in Tamil. Thamanna is currently fully concentrating in Telugu films.

Poornima back again

Poornima was one of the important actresses in the year 1980s in Tamil cinema. She had acted in more than 70 films including Kilinjalgal, Vidhi, Thanga Magan, Darling Darling Darling and Neengal Kettavai.

In the year 1984 she married actor and director Bhagyaraj. After her marriage she quit her acting. The last film which she had acted was Ungal Veettu Pillai. Her son Shanthnoo is donning lead roles in many films.

Her daughter Saranya Bhagyaraj had donned the female lead role in the film titled Parijatham. After a very long hiatus, Poornima has come back to act in a film. She has been signed for an important role in the film titled Aadhalaal Kadhal Seiveer directed by Suseenthiran. New face Santhosh and actress Manisha who had acted in Vazhakku En 18/9 are in the lead roles.

Shooting of Kochadaiyaan comes to an end

Kochadaiyaan is a film which had Rajnikanth and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The shooting of this film commenced during the month of March. The first schedule shooting of this film was held in London for 20 days.

The second schedule shooting of this film took place in Trivandrum. Major portions of the shooting took place in the Chitranjali Studios owned by the Kerala State Government. The final schedule of shooting was completed in Hong Kong.

Now the post production works like dubbing, graphics, mixing and re-recording are going on. These works are going on in the studios located in London, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. This was announced by Dr Murali Manohar who is the co-producer of this film. He had also mentioned that the release date is yet to be finalized but it will be surely released by end of this year.
This film is being released in Japanese, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages. There are great fan followers for Rajni in Japan and hence this film is being dubbed in Japanese language and released there. Apart from this, arrangements are also being made to release this film in French and Spanish languages.

Prithviraj said that he was proud because he produced Urumi.

Speaking to the media in Chennai, he said, "Cinematographer Santhosh Shivan approached me and said that he was going to make a film on Vasco Da Gama in Malayalam and whether I can act in it. I immediately gave my nod.

This was supposed to be a high budgeted film and because of this there was shortage of funds. So I became the producer for this good film.

I invested most of the money I had earned. Many warned me but I boldly invested. This film has done well in Tamil also.

This film is being appreciated throughout the world and is also receiving many awards in the film festivals and because of this I am proud as an actor and producer. I will not continue to produce films.

I am planning to take this film to Hindi. After this I will dub it in English. Actors like Arya, Prabhu Deva, Vidhya Balan and Genelia had reduced their salary for the sake of me and the film.

Some refused to take the salary. It is true that I am not acting in Tamil films. I am very clear that I should not act in worst films and that is the reason for this gap."
