A.R. Rahman, who has consistently produced commercially successful as well as critically acclaimed soundtracks when collaborating with director Mani Ratnam, is back at Mani's camp scoring music for his guru's Kadal.
According to ARR's facebook page, Mani and the Oscar winner have travelled to the southern district of Thoothukudi to brainstorm for the music of Kadal.
Interestingly, Rahman who usually either travels abroad or work at Panchadhan studio to score music, has come all the way down to Thoothukudi with his guru for the composition of the songs.
The duo has been working with each other since the days Mani introduced ARR through his 1992 movie "Roja" which won the later a national award and Silver lotus for best music direction.
The shooting for "Kadal" started on 5 March 2012 at Manapad, the sea village of Thoothukudi district.
Kadal is an upcoming romance film being directed and produced by Mani Ratnam. The film features debutant Gautham, son of actor Karthik, and Samantha in the lead roles.
Music lovers are eagerly awaiting the music of Kadal.
