Prabhu Deva met Rajesh Kanna recently

Actor cum director Prabhudeva recently met and conversed with Bollywood’s veteran actor Rajesh Khanna. The Hindi movie ‘Rowdy Rathore’ directed by Prabhudeva is to be released soon. Other than this, he is busy with another Hindi movie and IPL’s opening ceremony. Prabhudeva’s longtime desire was to meet Bollywood’s evergreen romantic hero Rajesh Khanna.

Recently Prabhudeva’s desire fructified through his friend.

Prabhudeva, speaking regarding meeting with Rajesh Khanna mentioned ‘My dream materialized through meeting Rajesh Khanna. I have seen all of his movies. My father is also an ardent fan of Rajesh Khanna.’

‘He invited me to his residence and offered me a cup of tea. He mentioned a lot about his South Indian contacts.’

During the time when Rajesh Khanna was the lead actor, most of his shooting schedules happened in Chennai. He used to have a permanent room in Hotel Chola. He recollects those days when he used to visit New Woodlands Hotel and take steaming Idlis and cup of coffee.

‘He shared the experience of remaking late MGR’s movies in Hindi as ‘Haathi Mera Saathi’, and ‘Apna Desh’. He also recollected his friendship with superstar Rajinikanth and remaking of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Sivappu RojaakkaL’ in Hindi as ‘Red Rose’.’

‘During those times the South Indian cinema used to have that much of discipline and control… I used to be surprised’ commented Rajesh Khanna.
