A case has been filed in the Kerala High Court against 'Why this kolaveri di...', the super hit song from Dhanush's recent release 3, stating that it is corrupting the minds of children and youngsters.
Seeking a ban against the song, M Madaswamy, who works as a postal assistant at Peermede in Idukki, has filed a public interest litigation in the Kerala High Court.
In his petition, he said that a song with such violent lyrics increases aggression related thoughts and emotions and this effect is directly related to the violence in the lyrics as per a new study published by the America Psychological Association.
'In a series of five experiments involving over 500 college students, researchers from Iowa state University and the Texas Department of Human Sciences examined the effects of seven violent songs and eight non-violent songs,' he said further.
Kolaveri was also in the category of violent songs, the petitioner said and added that some schools in Tamil Nadu and Kerala were concerned over children singing it. Besides, the boys were using the song to tease the girls.
